A Trip to the Cincinnati Zoo

When looking for the perfect vacation getaway attractions, most people generally look first to the aspect of what is bigger. In the human mind, bigger almost always equals better. This makes the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Cincinnati Ohio the very first on the visitors list of hot vacation attractions to hit. Not only is this attraction the biggest in the entire state of Cincinnati, but it has also been ranked as one of the worlds largest zoos. It would be unthinkable to not consider visiting this spot on your next Cincinnati area vacation. If you do not believe us, simply ask the one million plus visitors that take advantage of this attraction every year.

Rare Species

There are endless hours of fur-filled fun to be found at the Cincinnati Zoo. If there is an animal in any zoo in the United States, you will find that particular breed here. This wonderful animal sanctuary holds claim to over five hundred varieties of animal wildlife species. One of the more rare species to be found here is the Red Panda. These are very unique and unusual creatures. They look as if they are a strange mix of a raccoon and a fox. They live mostly in the trees and are extremely fun to watch as they jump from limb to limb and just play around in their habitat.

Another popular exhibit, particularly for those who have pets at home, is the Cat House. Here you will find a wide variety of feline animals from around the globe. As you stroll through this mix of different animal habitats, you will find yourself face to face with some of the worlds best hunters. The cats found within this area are not your typical house cat breed, but do come in an interesting variety of sizes and shapes, each one with it's own markings and streamlined physical aspects. There is the Sand Cat, the Siberian Lynx, the unusual Fishing Cat, the Southern Brazilian Ocelot and many more.

A Zoo Full of Plant Life

After seeing all the amazing examples of wildlife that the Cincinnati Zoo has to offer, if you can actually do that within a daylong time limit, then you can head over to the Botanical Garden. But then, where is it? As you walk around looking for it, you suddenly realize that you have been within the heart of it all day long. All the beautiful and amazing plants that you have noticed while admiring the wildlife are real exotic flowers and plant-life from all over the world. As you enter the park, make sure that you realize this as missing the various forms of plants around the park would truly be a shame.
