1. Civil Aviation
Between 1949 and 1978, China invested several billion yuan to construct and expand a group of airports, laying the foundation for civil aviation in the country. Since the initiation of the policies of reform and opening, a group of airports have been built and expanded to satisfy the needs of economic development. By the end of 1998, there were over 140 airports opened to civil airplanes. Of them, more than 80 could accommodate large airplanes such as Boeing 777s, 767s, 757s, 747s and 737s, and A340s. By 1999, the total length of civil air routes in China was 1.522 million km, 3.5 times that in 1978, and 1,122 air routes had been opened, 128 of which were international air routes. The domestic airlines radiate from Beijing to all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, all open cities, and border and remote areas. The international airlines reach more than 50 cities, including Tokyo, Bangkok, Jakarta, Paris, Frankfurt, Moscow, London, New York and Vancouver.

- Airport Information:
a). Beijing Capital International Airport
Beijing Capital International Airport , located within Shunyi district on the northeast suburb of Beijing City , is the gateway airport for China and the only level 4E international airport with two runways. Equipped with all sorts of facilities for passenger service and cargo handling, the Capital Airport is also the busiest one in China .

b). Shanghai Airports Shuttle Bus Time Schedules
Operating time: 06:00 (from Shanghai West Railway Station)-20:00, 7days/week.
Interval: 30 minutes.
Price: Charge according to mileage with the ceiling price of RMB 18.00/person

c). Chengdu Shuangliu Int'l Airport
Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is situated in the provincial capital of Si Chuan province---southwest suburbs of Chengdu city, 15 kilometers away from the downtown. It enjoys convenient transportation conditions.

Airport Shuttle Bus
It takes you 10 Yuan by the airport shuttle bus and 4 Yuan by the public transportation from the airport to Minshan hotel in the city center.
Taxi
The basic price for taking the taxi in Chendu is 5 Yuan with 1.4 Yuan per kilometer and it does not include the expressway charge.

d). Hangzhou Xiaoshan Int'l Airport
The new International Airport in Hangzhou , which is launched into operation on Dec. 29, 2000 , is located at Guali town in Xiaoshan city, 30 kilometers away from the downtown. To the airport, you can drive along the Hangyong expressway passing Qianjiang No.2 Bridge and leave off at Guali Exit; or you may choose the route of Qianjiang No.3 Bridge and the airport expressway.

Taxi
The expense to the airport by taxi is approximately 110-120 Yuan and it takes about 40 minutes.
Airport Shuttle Bus

You may take the airport shuttle bus at Wulin Gate in the city center. The one-way ticket is 15 Yuan per person. The frequency differs as follows: 6 : 00-8 : 00 , one departure per hour; 8 : 00--19 : 00 , one departure half an hour.
You can easily reach the Shanghai Hongqiao Airport by taking the express bus at Wulin Gate civil aviation ticketing office. There will be 6 departures from each side from 6:00am to 15:00 every day. It will cost you 85 Yuan for taking this bus.

e). Chongqing Jiangbei Int'l Airport
Jiangbei airport is 23 kilometers away from the city center situated at Lianglu town, Yubei district, which is in the northeast part of Chongqing city. It is linked with the city center by expressway.
