Daytona Beach Florida Outdoor Activities

By: Juble.com

Soaking up the Sun in Daytona

Daytona Beach Florida is one of the most visited vacation spots in the world. This city hosts so many events, such as the Daytona Beach Bike Week and the Daytona Spring Break Celebration, that attract people from not just all over the United States, but from around the world! The many festivities are only half of the equation that makes Daytona Beach such a highly sought after vacation getaway. The other half is the attractions. There are literally hundreds of museums, theme parks, and other things to do when in this energetic urban jungle.

Daytona Inside Out

Ironically, many of the more visited attractions are located indoors. This is only ironic due to the fact that when most people consider Florida as a vacation concept, they picture sun and beaches. Yet when they visit, they spend a lot of time at the indoor attractions. This is largely due to the fact that many of the outdoor activities and attractions are not very publicized. Nevertheless, Daytona does have an amazing amount of great outdoor activities to choose from if you know where to look.

The Sunglow Pier

One excellent spot to find a load of fun in Daytona Beach, even in the off-season, is the Sunglow Pier. This is an excellent hang out spot for the outdoor oriented vacationer, particularly the sportsman. This is one of the local favorite spots to get into the ever-popular sport of fishing. It is actually the ultimate fisherman's paradise as it supplies everything that a fisherman could possibly want. It has bench seats for comfort, a bait shack whenever the night crawlers start running low, and even a fish cleaning area. When you get hungry, there are no worries as at the very edge of the area is a full service restaurant with some excellent cuisine of you guessed it, fish! Don't worry if you didn't bring your tackle and equipment as you can rent it all on the pier. Just bring yourself and your passion for ocean fishing!

The Pelican Bay South Course

Perhaps fishing isn't quite your ideal of the perfect outdoor sport. Maybe you require something with a little more exercise and a lot more ground to cover. For you, Daytona proudly presents the Pelican Bay South Course. This is an amazingly scenic eighteen-hole golf course. As you make your way from hole to hole, you will weave in and out of the many beautiful waters that litter the area. Not unlike that of the Sunglow Pier, the Pelican Bay Course also has a full service restaurant on the grounds, along with a nice comfortable lounge where you can kick back and enjoy a nice drink and a break from the green.

Tons of Fun in the Sun

Daytona Beach has unlimited opportunities for those who are more outdoor oriented if one would just take the time to do the research ahead of time. There are, of course, miles of sparkling white beaches, cruise tours, diving opportunities, and parks to wander. Also, we cannot forget the famed Nascar raceway, the Daytona 500. There is always something to do, inside and out, in Daytona Beach Florida.
