Money Saving Tips in iBiza

By: Julie Peters

Here's how you can save money on your iBiza holiday

If you're off to iBiza for your holidays this Summer take these tips to make your money stretch a little further.

1. If you are prepared to buy now and snap up a bargain on you flight, car hire or hotel room then book online. Online travel arrangements can save you a lot of money. You compare the prices of the flight, car rental or boat charter and decide which is best for you.

2. Eat like the locals and save money - In order to get the true flavor of Ibiza you have to taste the local cuisine. Did you know that eating like a local can save you a lot of money too? One of the biggest expenses for tourists is eating out. Instead of eating at a fancy restaurant that caters to tourists ask a local person to recommend a good local restaurant. You'll get a great meal with all the local flavor and you could pay less than half of what you'd pay in a large restaurant that caters to the tourist trade.

3. Rent a flat or villa instead of a hotel room - This is going to save you pounds. A big group can get a luxury villa for a fraction of what it would cost them all to stay in hotels. iBiza is full of people who want to rent you there property. Check them out on the internet. If you are living in a flat or a villa you can also save pounds by going to a big supermarket and cooking for yourself. Stay away from the tourist grocery stores though.

4. Bus it. Don't rent a car - renting a car can be expensive on the island and it's an expense you can do without. Most of the time the car lies empty and you have to pay fuel and parking costs which are not cheap. There is a great bus service all over the island and the buses are air conditioned too!

5. Use Local Supermarkets for snacks and drinks - When you are out and about in iBiza and you want to snack or get some fizzy drinks use the big supermarkets for you treats. Most resort shop charge an arm and a leg for stuff like this. The beach shops are also expensive - so plan ahead!
