Renting an Irish Holiday Home

By: Steve Woodward

Renting one of the many Irish holiday homes that are now available will provide you with the chance to explore this beautiful island at your own pace. However, if you have never actually rented such accommodation before when on vacation below we offer some tips to ensure that you have a great time.

Tip 1 - Most of the holiday homes for rent in Ireland are owned by private individuals and so the standard in which they are maintained can vary greatly from one property to the next. If you are considering renting a holiday home for your next vacation then do so through a reputable agent who requires and insists on high standards of maintenance and care on the properties they have on their books.

Tip 2 - You should be aware that when it comes to renting a holiday home the dates on which you are able to rent them will vary from if you were selecting to stay in a hotel. Most rental agreements will run from Saturday to Saturday and there are very few who can offer alternatives to this. Plus you need to be aware that you will not be able to get until the property until around mid afternoon as this provides the agents with enough time to get the property prepared for your visit.

Tip 3 - When it comes to the price at which these properties are rented out at it does not tell you just what state the property is in. In many cases, rental prices will relate to where the property is located and at what time of year you are renting it at. You may find that you are going to get a much better quality of accommodation if you choose to select a holiday home in one of the less desired locations.

Tip 4 - When you have found your ideal holiday home and you want to make sure that you get it, and then you may need to book it well in advance of your vacation dates. Often doing this may save you money, but be prepared to hand over a deposit to the agency to ensure that the accommodation is held for you and no one else can then book it.

Tip 5 - Before you actually arrange a booking, you should be aware of what is actually included in the rental price. As you will soon find that, what is included will vary from one agent to the next. However, in most cases your heating, electricity and bed linen and other facilities within the home are included in the price. However, if you are looking to bring a pet with you then you may be required to pay an additional fee.

Tip 6 - When you are looking to save money on your holiday home it is a good idea to try and arrange it for a time when there are going to be less visitors to the area. However, you may find some places, which offer their accommodation at a more reasonable price even during high season simply because they are located in areas that are less popular with visitors.

In this article, we have offered some tips, which should help you in finding the right kinds of Irish holiday homes if you are going to be vacationing in this part of Europe. Also, we have offered some tips that should help you to save money on your accommodation. It is important however that you take your time and carry out as much research before you actually make that all important booking.
