Travelers's Reviews on The Hamilton Princess Hotel Bermuda

By: Lars Nielssen

Frank E. stayed at Hamilton Princess in August 2007:

The hotel is located within walking distance of the city of Hamilton. Front Street is just a few minutes walk and is the area with restaurants, bars, shops, etc., as well as the cruise ships pier. Our room faced a beautiful putting green and the harbour entrance filled with sail boats with an occasional cruise ship going by.

This is a four star hotel so I expected top service and for the most part got it. That said, one had to join the "President's Club" by filling out a form just to get free internet. I had expected free internet immediately without having to do anything since it is often available at inexpensive MOTELS here in the U.S.A. The restaurant was fine though very expensive; a breakfast buffet costs about twenty eight dollars including a tip. I must say though, you won't be hungry after breakfast! Expect quite extensive buffet and overall great service.

The grounds are amazing, the lobby area and adjacent bar area are unique with lots of windows and coi fish outside directly against the exterior wall swimming along a stream of sorts complete with a waterfall and beautiful flowers. This is not a place for the wild partying crowd and tends to be mostly a place for business. So if it is business you are there for this is the place to be....unless of course you want to be within walking distance of the city. Overall it is a very nice place to stay.

Allan from Kansas stayed at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess in June 2007:

We loved Bermuda and can't wait to go back. The hotel grounds and gardens were beyond belief and out of this world. The wing we were in "Bay Wing" is older needs to be redone, wallpaper is loose on the walls, mould in the shower and bathroom, no vents in the bathroom, out of date TV's in the room and lots of ants in the room.

The staff was very helpful and went out of their way on several occasions they allowed us to overlook the physical structure. The hotel bar is classic old school and serves excellent cocktails and a great bar menu. The restaurant is super. Location is within walking distance to 90% of the best places to be in Bermuda and it's adjacent to s scooter rental facility which is paramount in Bermuda.

You are able to use the facilities at the South Hampton Princess too including the golf, restaurants and the best beach on the island where an attentive staff brings you the best island drinks and clean towels while you enjoy the sun, water, beach and people watch. We will go back and look forward to staying at the Fairmont Princess in Hamilton; hopefully she will have her facelift by that time.
