What Makes Milwaukee A Fun Place To Visit

By: Stefi Branston

Thinking about taking a vacation? If so, you are taking a look at common destinations like Las Vegas, Disneryworld, and California. These are popular places because you have general idea ahead of time of what the destination has to offer. The only problem with chosing these vacation spots is that so does everyone else. The result is that you will be spending your vacation in overcrowded areas.

You have much better things to do during your vacation then wasting your time and energy fighting the crowds. Why would you want to be around thousands of other tourists? When there is a higher demand from tourists, the costs of the hotel and rental car increase and can become quite expensive.

But what if you could spend your vacation in a more relaxed atmosphere where you did not have to fight people for the basics? How about lounging on the shore of one of the biggest lakes in the world with all of the amenities of a large city but without the headaches? Milwaukee is just such a place.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a vacation? Yes, absolutely. Milwaukee is Wisconsin's biggest city. It is on the beautiful shoreline of Lake Michigan. There are festivals in the summer that bring in tourists, great food, and loads of fun activities.

One highlight of the festival activities is Cathedral Square. This square is close to Lake Michigan. There are several tasty, fun restauarants to dine in around this area. There is active night life and great shopping as well. You can take in the local culture by attending a free concert in the summer and eat out for a reasonable price. There is plenty to do in the winter, such as witness the breathtaking lights in Cathedral Square.

The Milwaukee County Zoo is home to over 3000 animals and a host of endangered species. It is a great place to take children with its famous petting zoo and educational programs. There is even a cross-country skiing trail for the adults.

Do you love to admire great art? Check out the Milwaukee Art Museum. It is nearby Lake Michigan. It houses an extensive, varied collection of paintings, sculpture, and photography. If you are hungry they have a cafe to fill your stomach with yummy food. Throughout the year the museum has dancers and performers demonstrate their talents for you and your family to enjoy.

It is a wonderful options that could be as fun, if not more fun, then the regular hot spots. Place Milwaukee, Wisconsin on your list of vacation destinations.
