Your Cyprus Villa Rental Checklist!

By: Tim Martins

We are going to cover a series of must dos that you should consider in the case that you are thinking of renting a holiday villa in Cyprus. These points will make sure that nothing will possibly go wrong for anyone wishing to rent a villa in Cyprus as well as a whole string of related matters.

First make sure that you use the services of a letting agency with a good reputation or one that comes highly recommended. Don't part with any money unless you have their full contact details and not just a contact phone number. Check out their website for full contact details and see whether there are any credible feedback from their customers.

Be very suspicious of prices that seem extremely low for no good reason. Don't make payment through services like Western Union or Money Gram, as the cash can be "received" anonymously. If possible pay by credit card, and ensure your card has the appropriate protection (call them first to be sure)

Shop around and speak to agents by phone first when looking online, or at least send an email and see how they reply. Ask if you can speak to previous customers of the letting agent, if they have done a good job they should have no problem with this. Do a Google search on the company or individual's name as you may be surprised at what you find.

Make sure too that you know the amount that you are spending on your trip and double check on the currency that is quote, whether it be Euro or Pounds Sterling. If you need to convert Euro into Pounds try the internet for some great exchange rate sites. Also make sure you have the time clear for entering your villa and also for vacating it on departure.

Make sure you know how to arrive to your exact destination, because the taxi driver may not know from the villa address, and you may be arriving during the night when nobody is available to guide you. Make sure you know the immediate surrounding area - is it next door to a disco (this may be a plus - it depends on what you want from your vacation), is there construction happening next door, all day, everyday?

If you follow these few basic points you can be guaranteed a trouble free Cyprus villa rental experience. If you are in any doubt whatsoever, I would highly recommend that you have a look at our list of preferred villa rental agencies just so you can make the necessary comparisons. Whatever you decide I wish you the very best in Cyprus.
