Family holidays can be fun and if are planning a camping trip, you need to prepare well in advance to ensure a smooth and enjoyable time. You will need various items like a tool kit or a multipurpose knife, flashlight, a backpack, tent, an axe, tarp, sleeping bed and lots more for your trip. A lantern is a must for every camping trip, or if you need illumination for a loner time, you can opt for the battery operated LED light. Some come with rechargeable batteries while others have the spare batteries, to ensure that you get to use it for a longer time. A multipurpose tool kit has various tools like a shovel, hatchet, hammer, nail puller, can opener, knife etc, and since this kit can be folded to make it compact, it is easy to carry on any kind of trip.

It is important to pack warm clothes, as temperatures can dip suddenly, and you would not wish to face adverse conditions on your holiday. You should have a sturdy tent for your camping holiday, as it will be the only protection between you and other forces of nature like sun, rain and wind. You need to buy a tent depending on the number of people going on the trip. If you need privacy, there are special dome camps available which provide extra space, and can easily accommodate several people. If you are buying a new tent, invest in a sturdy and reliable brand, which you know will last for some more trips.

Other supplies to be carried on the trip are sleeping bags, blankets, a stove to cook, cooking supplies like freeze dried food packets, pots and pans, plates, cutlery etc. If you are going on a camping holiday with your kids, it would be best to carry something to keep them occupied. Children get restless easily, so it would be best to carry some board games or other such items which you think will keep them happy. There are folding tables, chairs and racks available for those who go on camping holidays. You can use racks to store your belongings and keep everything systematic in your tent. You must have a water filter on your holiday, as it would not wise to drink water from any source. Natural water available in taps or streams may be contaminated and may have impurities and harmful materials. You would surely not wish to have someone falling sick during the trip, so carry along a portable water filter which is specially made for campers.
